San Martín De La Virgen De Moncayo Mycological Center

Name:
San Martín de la Virgen de Moncayo Mycological Center

Description:
The Moncayo Mycological Center is a space dedicated to the study and dissemination of the world of mushrooms. It has advanced technologies such as the Virtual Mycological Trail, an immersive experience with virtual reality glasses that allows you to explore different forests of Moncayo and learn about its fungal species. During the mushroom season, the center offers advice on identification and edibility to avoid poisoning, some of which have serious consequences. Given the increasing number of collectors in the area and the associated risk, since 2007, awareness campaigns have been promoted to encourage responsible and safe consumption. The organizing association seeks not only to prevent accidents, but also to deepen the scientific study and environmental protection of the mycological environment. In addition, it is committed to developing the mycological potential of the region as a tourist and socioeconomic engine. The initiative promotes collaborations with public and private entities, as well as national and international associations. The goal is to make Moncayo a benchmark in mycology, with a solid foundation in research, sustainability and education.
