Description:

The Mycological Interpreter Course 2025, co-financed by the European Union, is designed for people interested in mycology, nature tourism, and the responsible collection of mushrooms and truffles in Aragon. The course covers key aspects such as species identification, ecology, responsible harvesting, regulations, toxicity, mushroom cultivation, marketing, and mycotourism. It is divided into four thematic blocks:

  • Mycological fundamentals: classification, ecology, and harvesting regulations.
  • Spring and summer mushrooms: edible and toxic species, with identification practices in the field.
  • Truffles and hypogeous fungi: ecology, identification, and their relationship with truffle cultivation.
  • Autumn and winter mushrooms: recognition and collection of species of gastronomic interest.

The course is taught by Javier Marcos Martínez, a biologist and mycology expert with extensive teaching experience. A minimum attendance of 85% and the passing of theoretical and practical assessments are required to obtain certification from the European Mycological Institute (EMI).
